Since 2000, Together against the death penalty acts to fight against
the death penalty around the world. The association encourages the
universal abolition of the death penalty through advocacy with the
government, the strengthening of abolitionist civil society , the
creation and dissemination of publications.
Every three years, ECPM organizes the World Congress against the
Death Penalty wich brings together civil society and political
representatives, to identify strategies at the international level.
The 4th World Congress was held in Geneva in 2010. It brought
together over 1500 participants / day from 90 countries, senior
political representatives of States retentionist and abolitionist, 53
diplomatic delegations and was a media success with more than
250,000 listings and 1200 Web articles in more than 30 countries.
The 5th World Congress will be held in Madrid in 2013 with support
from the Spanish and Norwegian governments. It is in this context
that this recruitment is taking place.
